Skating with a Twist at Panther Island Ice

We’re shaking this up this season at Panther Island Ice and offering a variety of fun themed days at the ice rink! Read below for more info on all the things we have planned at Fort Worth’s only outdoor ice skating rink.

Figure Skating Performances
Every Sunday in December Panther Island Ice is featuring performances by local competitive figure skaters. The free shows will take place at 3:15 pm, 5:00 pm and 6:30 pm each day. These shows are made possible thanks to the support of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The schedule for each performance as follows:

Dec. 13 -Laurel Alexander  |  Dec. 20 – Mary Beeson  |  Dec. 27 – Cece Weaver

Fireworks Show and Star Wars Day
Panther Island Ice is celebrating the opening of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens in true Panther Island fashion – with fireworks of course! The free show will take place December 19 at 7:15 pm. These won’t be just any old fireworks, you can bet your lightsaber that we’ll end the show with the BANG we’ve become known for. Gather up the stormtroopers to enjoy a day of skating at the ice rink, fireworks show and then catch a screening of the movie at Coyote Drive-In. The fireworks show will be produced by Extreme Pyrotechnics.

Nutcracker Day
The holiday season wouldn’t be complete without an appearance from the Sugar Plum Fairy and that’s why we’re bringing the Nutcracker to Panther Island Ice. Thanks to the Texas Ballet Theater you can meet, mingle and take photos with The Nutcracker, Sugar Plum Fairy and Clara on December 20 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the ice rink. We’ll also be giving away tickets on site to Texas Ballet Theater’s upcoming performance of Cinderella. But we’re so excited for the event that we’re giving away a four pack of box seats to a performance of the Nutcracker at Bass Hall and four free admissions to Panther Island Ice. Entering to win takes seconds, click here for a chance to win.

Motown Day
We heard it through the grapevine that the best place to skate to the coolest Motown hits will be Panther Island Ice on January 9 from 4:00-7:00 pm. We’re celebrating the upcoming show at Bass Hall and you’ll be dancing in the streets after you win some of the tickets we’ll be giving away to the opening night of Motown: The Musical.

Christmas Carols
Celebrate the holidays with Christmas carols at Panther Island Ice. On December 10 the Trinity Valley School Trojan Treble Chiefs Choir will serenade skaters at 6:15 pm and 7:45 pm. Local actress Coco will highlight the holidays with her musical talents on December 11 at 4:45 pm and 6:00 pm.
