FORT WORTH, TX -- Rockin’ the River is back for the sixth year and we have a great season lined up; we’re bringing in some fresh acts as well as favorites from previous years.  New this season is an all day, series finale happening on Saturday, August 13. “Since we started Rockin’ the River six years ago, our tubers have asked for the opportunity to float the river and enjoy a concert on a weekend,” said Trinity River Vision Authority Executive Director, J.D. Granger. “This year we’re responding to those requests and capping the season in style,” he said. Panther Island Ice to Host FWISD Schools on Skates Program by Royce Redfearn | Nov 16, 2015 This year students from 18 FWISD elementary schools will skate at Panther Island Ice, free of charge. FORT WORTH, TX – Thanks to a partnership between the Trinity River Vision Authority, The Fort Worth Chamber, Bank of Texas and Blue Zones Project - Fort Worth thousands of FWISD elementary students will get the opportunity to experience Fort Worth’s only outdoor ice skating rink, Panther Island Ice. FWISD Schools on Skates is a program which will allow students from FWISD elementary schools to experience ice skating at Panther Island Ice.  TRVA is hosting 18 schools this year with hopes to expand in future years to include additional schools.  The program will kick off tomorrow from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. with students from Meadowbrook Elementary. “We are so excited to be able to work with FWISD to give our hard-working kids this special opportunity,” said Trinity River Vision Authority Executive Director, J.D. Granger. “We look forward to continuing the tradition in the years to come and giving additional elementary schools in FWISD this opportunity,” he said.
