The traditional German festival will take place at The Shack September 24-26
FORT WORTH, TX—Dust off your lederhosen, the 2nd Annual Oktoberfest Fort Worth is coming back to The Shack at Panther Island Pavilion! The three day festival, presented by Spaten, will stay true to the traditional, Munich-style Oktoberfest with authentic German food, music and entertainment.
The festival will kick off Thursday, September 24 with the Community Tapping Committee participating in the ceremonial tapping of the kegs led by Anheuser-Busch’s brewmaster. In addition, The Ticket’s “The Hardline” will be on site Thursday broadcasting live from 3:00 pm – 7:00 p.m.
Entertainment will take place across two stages which will feature the best Bavarian and polka bands in the state such as Grammy Award-winning Brave Combo, Alpenmusikanten, Third Generation, Walburg Boys and more. Additional Oktoberfest activities will include a dachshund race with 50 speedy weenies, photo ops with a stilt-walking clown in lederhosen, bier barrel rolling races, chicken dancing, stein hoisting competitions, dancers of all ages performing traditional folk dances and much more.
Saturday morning will kick off with a 5K, 1-mile fun run and a 15-mile bike ride lead by Mayor Betsy Price which will end just in time for the opening of the festival.
No Oktoberfest would be complete without a stein full of Spaten! The Fort Worth festival will feature a variety of Spaten biers plus other fall brews such as Deep Ellum Oak Cliff Coffee, KarbachToberfest, Goose Island Oktoberfest, Shock Top Pumpkin Wheat and Ace Pumpkin. Authentic German food will be available and the menu will include festival food such as bratwursts, sauerkraut, pretzels, crepes, strudel, schnitzel, roasted nuts and more.
Tickets are available online now for a discounted rate and will also be sold on site during the festival. Online early bird ticket holders are guaranteed a free 2015 commemorative stein. A limited number of steins will be available for tickets purchased at the gate, while supplies last. Admission for children 12 and under is free with a paying adult.
