Tubing Resumes as River Recedes at Panther Island Pavilion
Tubing will be available this week at Rockin’ the River, Fort Worth’s Fourth and Sunday Funday
FORT WORTH, TEXAS – River lovers rejoice! As the flood waters recede along the Trinity River in Fort Worth tubing will resume at Panther Island Pavilion. Approximately 70,000 people are expected to spend their holiday weekend with us on the Trinity River as Panther Island Pavilion opens for the summer with Rockin’ the River, Fort Worth’s Fourth, Sunday Funday and Backwoods Paddlesports at Panther Island Rentals.
Rockin’ the River this week is Parrothead Themed as a Jimmy Buffett tribute band, The Land Sharks, takes the Coors Waterfront Stage Thursday, July 2. Tubers and event patrons are encouraged to dress up in their island best and tube the Trinity at the event which starts at 4:30 p.m.
Fort Worth’s Fourth will take place Saturday, July 4th at Panther Island Pavilion. General admission and tubing is free. The event also features a free kidzone, jet ski and flyboard shows, live music and the largest fireworks show in North Texas. Gates open at 2:00 p.m. and the fireworks show will begin at 10:00 p.m.
The tubing weekend will conclude with the kick-off of Sunday Funday, a laid back afternoon on the Trinity River featuring tube rentals, craft beer from Panther Island Brewing, disc golf, paddleboard yoga, kayak and canoe rentals and more.
In addition, Backwoods Paddlesports at Panther Island Rentals will resume their regular concession hours this week and operate Tuesday through Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. To celebrate the opening of the river for recreation they are offering half priced rentals all day today. Backwoods rents kayaks, canoes and stand up paddleboards from the riverfront concession at Panther Island Pavilion.
